If you’re like me, you love to celebrate any holiday, but you also want to keep it healthy. I’m going to skip the green beer and head straight for a green smoothie. (Or maybe you’re doing green beer first and sipping this smoothie for breakfast the next day.)
This isn’t just any green smoothie. It’s a powerhouse of spirulina, moringa, spinach, and optional matcha (if you’re feeling extra festive). With a smooth, creamy base from banana, avocado, and yogurt, it’s both nourishing and delicious. And thanks to ginger and turmeric, it’s got a subtle spicy kick with anti-inflammatory benefits.
Whether you’re starting your morning with intention or need a mid-day pick-me-up, this smoothie delivers. Personally, I find my digestion is happier on some days if I let it warm up a little before drinking it. According to Ayurveda we shouldn’t really be eating frozen foods, but some days I find that something sweet and cold hits the spot. Luckily a hot beverage is always in my near future 🙂
I added blueberries to this recipe and ended up with more of a bog witch colour so I might not recommend that for today’s high-impact green. Any of the ingredients can be left out if you don’t have them or for preference. The base of this, and most smoothies is banana and protein powder. As long as you have that, you’re golden – er – I mean green.
Luck of the Irish to you today!

Make It Your Own
- Prefer dairy-free? Swap yogurt for coconut yogurt and use almond or oat milk instead of water.
- Want it sweeter? Add a Medjool date or a drizzle of maple syrup (my personal fave).
- Feeling festive? Top it with chia seeds or a sprinkle of hemp hearts for extra nutrition.
Cheers to your health, happiness, and a little extra luck today.
