Spring Comes Slowly, Change Comes Slowly, Personal Transformation Comes Slowly

Spring Comes Slowly: The Wisdom of Kapha Season

Before we see flowers bloom or leaves unfurl on the trees, change begins deep in the woods. Snow melts. Soil softens. Life stirs quietly beneath the surface.

You are no different.

If you’ve been in a long internal winter—a season of exhaustion, grief, or simply feeling stuck—it might feel like nothing is happening. But trust this: change is already underway, even if you can’t see it yet.

Spring can’t be rushed. And neither can the positive transformation quietly unfolding within you.

In Ayurveda, spring is known as kapha season. Kapha is the dosha of earth and water—stable, grounded, and nurturing. It governs new beginnings, but like the season it represents, it starts slowly. The beauty of kapha is that once it builds momentum, that energy is steady and long-lasting.

So if your energy is just beginning to return… if you feel like you’re only starting to thaw… let that be enough. The most important thing is to keep going, little by little.

In my experience, change comes slowly and then all of a sudden. One day you will reach a tipping point and suddenly realize how far you have come because you are not the same person anymore. You will catch yourself in the middle of something that used to trigger all of your worst neurotic patterns and now… the pattern has changed to something new and wonderful.

Let your healing unfold at its own pace. Let your new season take root. Something beautiful is on its way. 🌱
