I led YogaFit’s “Working with the Chakras” training over the weekend and wanted to share my take on the book that we use in the trainig.
The Chakra Bible by Patricia Mercier is a comprehensive guide to understanding the chakra system. This, like most chakra books is designed as a reference book. In my mind, a great chakra book is perfect for looking up tips and tools and should be full of sticky notes.
It explores the history, function, and practical applications of the chakras in daily life. It’s a well-rounded take on chakras for teachers and practitioners.
It includes practical exercises, meditations, and affirmations to balance each energy center as well as various healing modalities, such as crystals, essential oils, and sound therapy, making it a versatile resource for holistic well-being.
What you
- The Chakra System as an Energy Map – Chakras are spinning energy centers that influence physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Understanding them helps in aligning body and mind.
- Affirmations & Visualization Techniques – Positive affirmations and guided imagery help to reprogram subconscious patterns and restore energy flow in the chakras.
- Crystals & Essential Oils for Chakra Healing – The book provides a guide to using stones (e.g., amethyst for the crown chakra) and essential oils (e.g., lavender for relaxation) to support energy alignment.
- Chakras & Emotional Healing – Understanding the chakras helps in recognizing emotional wounds and developing self-awareness, particularly useful in yoga therapy and personal growth.
…And tons of other great tools!
